Spring 2022 President’s Message
With March winds followed by April showers, Spring is just around the corner. We are also emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic over the past 2 years and returning to more normal times. With the warmer weather we can look forward to parades, street fair festivals and sports.
You are invited to attend our next General Chamber meeting on Monday, March 14, 6:00 P.M. at the Sachem Public Library in the Community Room downstairs. This will be a very informative and exciting program on Branding and Marketing Strategy presented by our own Chamber Board member Michael DelRosso, owner of Union Square Advertising. Michael provides his expert services to numerous Chamber members along with many other area businesses. We are planning an exciting meeting in April, as well. This will take place at the Topgolf in Holtsville.
The St. Regis Council of the Knights of Columbus is hosting the annual Ronkonkoma St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, March 27. Join the Chamber and other Community groups in this celebration. The Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce Memorial Day Street Fair is on again this year, being held on Sunday, May 29. It promises to be bigger and better than ever. For additional information and to obtain a space, please check the Ronkonkoma Chamber Facebook or go to our website www.ronkonkomachamber.com. Don’t forget that on the following day, May 30, the Ronkonkoma AmVets Post 48 will be kicking off the Annual Memorial Day Parade which ends at Raynor County Park for the memorial service. We always look forward to participating in this parade and ceremony! Other exciting events are being planned as well, including the Annual Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce Labor Day Street Fair on Sunday, September 4. The Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce welcomes community volunteers to assist with these events. We also seek Sponsorships from local businesses and organizations.
The Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce is, once again, providing 4 Scholarships for graduating high school seniors who plan for college or post-secondary education. Two of these go to Connetquot High School and two go to Sachem High School North. Please contact your high school guidance office for detailed information on how to apply for these scholarships.
I would like to thank our long-time Chamber member, ServPro of Ronkonkoma, for becoming a new Platinum member along with the Michele Scully Agency for stepping up to this level of support as well!
On behalf of the Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce, we wish all of our local businesses and residents a very enjoyable, happy and safe Purim, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter and Passover. May 2022 be a more rewarding and successful year!
Kevin L. Hyms – President
